Frequently Asked Questions
- How do I change my reading speed?
- Open any article or book, tap the settings icon (sliders) in the bottom bar, and adjust the WPM slider. You can also use the +/- buttons that appear while reading.
- What's the difference between Flash and Guide mode?
- Flash mode shows one word (or chunk) at a time at your chosen speed. Guide mode shows the full text with word-by-word highlighting as you read. Try both to see what works best for you.
- How do I cancel my subscription?
- Subscriptions are managed through Apple. Go to your iPhone Settings > tap your name at the top > Subscriptions > BookMark Pro > Cancel Subscription.
- Can I use BookMark on multiple devices?
- Yes. Sign in with the same Apple ID on each device and your reading progress, speed test history, and training data will sync automatically.
- How do I delete my account?
- Go to Settings > Profile > Delete Account. This permanently removes all your data from our servers. If you have an active subscription, cancel it first through iOS Settings.
- Why does the app recommend a reading speed?
- After each comprehension quiz, BookMark analyzes your score and suggests an optimal speed. High comprehension means you can push faster. If comprehension drops, it recommends slowing down to lock in retention.
- Where do the books come from?
- Books in the Explore tab are free public domain works from Project Gutenberg. They are free to download and read.
- Is my data safe?
- Yes. We use Supabase for secure cloud storage with encryption at rest and in transit. We do not sell your data or use advertising trackers. See our Privacy Policy for details.
